Summary
Part Three of the Public Broadcasting Service's coverage of the 1980 Drum Corp International Championship from Birmingham, Alabama. Jim Peck, Steve Rondinaro, and Rita Moreno host the televised coverage of performances by the top 12 corps. The 12 corps will be judged on horn line, drum line, and color guard. Part 3 features three corps performances. The Santa Clara Vanguard from California perform "The Planets," selections from "Evita," including "Don't Cry For Me Argentina," and others. The Madison Scouts from Wisconsin perform the "Entre Act" from "They're Playing Our Song," "Malagueña," "New Country," and music from the movie "Ice Castles." The Phantom Regiment from Rockford, Illinois perform "Russian Easter Overture," "Polovtsian Dances," "The Gallop," and "Carmen Suite."  WTTW Channel 11 interrupts the coverage with station identification and sponsorship information.
