Summary
Public Broadcasting Service's coverage of the 1980 Drum Corp International Championship from Birmingham, Alabama.  Part 1 features four performances. The Bridgemen of New Jersey perform a circus themed selection, "Battle Hymn of the Republic," and others. The Spirit of Atlanta from Georgia perform "Georgia On My Mind," "Old Man River," "Sweet Georgia Brown," and "Let It Be Me." The 27th Lancers from Massachusetts perform a selection of songs.  The Blue Devils from California performing "New York Fantasy," "Off the Line," "You Gotta Try," "Pegasus," "Free," "La Suerte de los Tontos," and "Pauper in Paradise."
