Summary
Part Five of the Public Broadcasting Service's coverage of the 1980 Drum Corp International Championship from Birmingham, Alabama. Jim Peck, Steve Rondinaro, and Rita Moreno host the televised coverage of performances by the top 12 corps. The 12 corps will be judged on horn line, drum line, and color guard. Part 5 features the Blue Devils from California performing "New York Fantasy," "Off the Line," "You Gotta Try," "Pegasus," "Free," "La Suerte de los Tontos," and "Pauper in Paradise." Members of all the bands assemble for the announcement of the Blue Devils from California as the winner of the championship. WTTW Channel 11 interrupts the coverage with station identification and sponsorship information.
